Sailing & Maritime Event Breaks by coach

As an island the UK has a rich and diverse history in maritime traditions.

Throughout the country there is a plethora of ways to participate in this and Caledonian Travel has selected some of the best to partake in. Whether it is a huge event or a quiet sail on a loch, we are sure we have just what you are looking for.

The Tall Ships Regatta which sails across oceans is a fantastic sight to behold, with their billowing sails from a distance it could be from another time in history, but on closer inspection these ships are built with all the modern technology and skills available, join us on one of our Tall Ships tours in Greenwich or Gloucester, and go aboard some of these magnificent vessels and speak to the sailors who have a wealth of knowledge on all aspects of sailing.

A visit to the Royal Yacht Britannia, is just as impressive, and is a small glimpse at the decadence that the royal family enjoyed while holidaying on board, it has come to rest in Leith dock as a tourist attraction having being enjoyed for 40 years by the Queen and travelling over 1 million miles.

If adventuring on the open seas is what you had in mind our fantastic tours to the Outer Hebrides and the Northern Isles give you an amazing opportunity to see some of the most stunning scenery in Scotland, with trips to some of the best preserved Neolithic sites in the world, including Skara Brae and the Callanish Standing Stones, the mystery of how our ancestors moved and positioned these huge stones only adds to the experience, which will stay long after your visit.

A more recent time in history can be visited by enjoying a trip on the Waverly, the last seagoing passenger -carrying paddle steamer in the world.

So join Caledonian Travel on one of our breaks for a new experience and let us take care of the all the organising while you relax and enjoy the experience.
